In this video, Travis demonstrates fitting a Passenger Side PDP Fuel Filter Kit to a Landcruiser 200. This is virtually an essential upgrade – one of the most important things you need to protect your engine from is dirty fuel. Even though Australia’s fuel might be rated as one of the best in the world, it certainly doesn’t mean that you should trust it. (Gotta pity other nations, if ours is considered top-notch – but don’t get us started on that…)
Anyway, while the installation is a fairly straightforward process, it’s still pretty time consuming. Travis shares a bunch of pro tips that’ll help stop any common pitfalls and make sure you get it right first time.
Trav quickly runs through the equipment you’ll need (the kit itself, socket and spanner dimensions and other essential items). Then he gets right down to it.
The process is detailed in the included kit instructions, but briefly comprises:
- Removing the old fuel filter.
- Installing the bracket.
- Assembling the filter.
- Connecting the fuel hoses.
- Priming the system.
- Starting the engine and checking for leaks.
Importantly, the process can vary a little depending on the vehicle and the fuel filter location. Travis also recommends having someone to help you – that extra pair of hands makes life soooo much easier…
We’ve also got a companion video for the Driver’s Side version.
It doesn’t take long for any 200 series owner to learn that if they’re going to do anything more than the lightest off-roading, then upgrades are part and parcel of life. Whether it’s performance parts, mounting brackets, electrical or anything else, we can help.
