So why, we hear you ask, is this so important? The simple answer is that today’s diesel engines have such fine tolerances that the tiniest bit of debris in the fuel can cause issues over time. (And you need to protect your engine from the odd batch of dodgy fuel – but that’s another story!).
Anyway, we digress…

The process itself is fairly straightforward:
- Mount the bracket: Using factory bolt holes.
- Install the fuel head: Connect the fuel head to the bracket
- Route the fuel hoses: Securing them with zip ties.
- Remove and reinstall the intercooler: To route the fuel hoses.
- Prime the fuel system: Bleed the system before starting the engine.
But, as we all know, simple doesn’t always mean easy… Trav covers some some crucial installation tips, that will help smooth the task, including:
- Checking that the kit is specific to your vehicle’s configuration
- Be sure to use the support strap. This prevents the vehicle from moving and flexing.
- Use decent tools. Not only do they make the installation easier, but they’re tough enough to last a lifetime – well worth the investment.
- Take your time and follow the instructions.
- Service the filter regularly, according to manufacturer recommendations.
