Brewing Up a Coffee Storm in a Customised 79 Series

Trav shares a cuppa with Colorado Coffee – a company that’s combined their love of the perfect brew with off-road adventure.

The 70 series Landcruiser – in this case, the 79 – is a great 4x4 platform to convert. And these guys have turned theirs into a fully functional mobile coffee shop that has everything on board to serve barista-perfect lattes, espressos, cappuccinos, flat whites and more.

Trav gets down and dirty with why they chose this particular vehicle. OK, its capabilities are pretty legendary, and it’ll happily clamber up and down every type of terrain. But for a functional business and off-roader, it provided the perfect basis to convert for both business and pleasure use.

He chats about how they’ve extended the chassis and lifted the suspension, increased engine power and integrated the coffee-making equipment while still leaving enough living space. This included upgrading to a top-spec lithium battery, adding an inverter to power the coffee machine and a custom-designed canopy.

When it comes to work-life (and adventure) balance, this is a ripper… It also shows how versatile the 79 is – and that it just takes a bit of imagination, some decent kit and performance parts to transform this rugged workhorse into a highly specialised vehicle.

This is one of the most unique conversions we’ve seen – so click play and see for yourself! Specialised convos are something we love to get involved in.
