Unifilter
No matter whether your off-road adventures take you to the nearest campsite or you’re tackling the most challenging terrain imaginable, protecting the internal engine components from dust and debris is essential. Unifilter offers the best replacement air filters on the market, using a proven two-stage system that prevents particles from entering and compromising performance. Unifilter also manufactures an efficient pre-cleaner/filter for snorkels, a crucial addition to prevent unwanted infiltration without decreasing engine airflow.
The worst conditions are when Unifilter filters excel – in fact, the more extreme the dust and debris, the better they perform. They are the filter of choice for professional off-road competition and extreme 4X4 use. Dirt and dust don’t just mute performance, they can actively damage the engine. Using the PDP Unifilter replacements that are available for every Landcruiser model, provides an unrivalled barrier that – even when the filter is loaded to the extreme – won’t compromise engine airflow.
Will a PDP Unifilter replacement fit my Landcruiser?
In a nutshell, yes. We offer Unifilter replacement air filters for all 70 series, 200, 300, and the Prado and Hilux too.
Should I fit a pre-cleaner/air filter to my 4X4 snorkel?
Absolutely! This will stop 90% of the dust from reaching the main air filter. The snorkel is a magnet for dust and debris, so it really is a crucial, highly affordable addition. As well as benefiting the engine and performance, a ‘snorkel sock’ will also reduce maintenance and cleaning.
What is Unifilter oil for?
The two-stage protection of Unifilter air filters needs to be correctly oiled for maximum protection. It’s not a difficult task but we can’t stress how important it is to use the right oil – and, naturally, Unifilter’s own product is specifically designed for the job. Whenever the filter is cleaned, a re-oil is necessary to ensure it provides the ultimate dust and debris capture that the brand is renowned for.
Are PDP Unifilter air filters designed for Australian conditions?
Yes, they are – and they’re manufactured here as well. Let’s face it, our country has some pretty unique conditions, so it makes sense to use crucial high-performance parts, such as air filters, that are purposely made for our home environment.
How often should I change the air filter on my Landcruiser?
Well, that’s a difficult question. Most guidance models suggest changing it every 15,000 to 30,000 kms (or every 1-2 years). However, this is wholly dependent on how hard you drive your rig. In Oz, it doesn’t take much to slip into what the air filter industry would describe as ‘heavy use’. Excessive driving in dusty conditions (hello, virtually every summer off-road day…) warrants regular air filter cleaning as well as more frequent replacement.
