Got a 300 series? Thinking about which snorkel to fit and can’t decide between the Armax and Vspec? Trav puts the two head-to-head in this video, getting down and dirty with both of these market-leading products.
While both allow you to hit the creeks and rivers of the outback without worrying about water intake, there are some hefty differences between the two. While both play a significant role in preventing harmful dust and debris from being sucked in, reducing wear and tear on the engine, each has its own pros and cons. In this video, Trav talks about the design, airflow, ease of installation, performance, compatibility issues and more.
Which one to choose depends on how hard you intend to use your 4x4. For those who with an extreme off-roading addiction, then the Armax is probably the way to go. And, if rugged, in-your-face looks hit the spot, then this certainly ticks the box. If you want a more subtle appearance, then the sleeker look of the Vspec might suit – and it offers pretty impressive performance as well.
The Armax is a bit more complex to install – you’ll need a few more skills – but it’s certainly not beyond the abilities of anyone who’s practical and handy with tools.
